Play Here
Seventy seats in Utopia, Texas. A stage that sounds better than it has any right to, and a room that came to listen.
About the doorWe don’t make money on the people who play here
Most of our shows carry no cover at all. When a show is ticketed, the price is your fee divided by the room and nothing on top. We make our living on food and drink — not at the door.
We charge as little as we can without knowingly losing money on the night. That is the whole policy, and we would rather say it plainly than have you find out after the fact.

The room could physically hold a hundred and twenty. We keep it at seventy because that is the show. Nobody here is far away from you.
Songwriters with something to say
Original music. Texas music — which does not mean country: about a quarter of what we book would be filed that way, and the rest is the point. Folk, soul, blues, rock and roll, reggae, Tejano, and whatever else belongs to this part of the world.
What we are not is the room down the road playing Neon Moon for the fourth time tonight. That model works out here. We don’t want it.
The kitchen is not an afterthought
We cook a different cuisine every week, from ingredients we drive to San Antonio to buy rather than take off a truck. Our regulars will tell you the food is their favorite part of the place, which is a strange thing to hear in a music venue and a good thing to play in front of. People come out for one and stay for the other.
Tell us who you are, send us something to listen to, and say when you’re passing through.
[email protected]Every show here gets worked out in a conversation, not a form. Sound, load-in, somewhere to sleep — tell us what you need and we’ll tell you straight what we can do.
